GOD OUR PROVIDER
If you have listened to the news recently you will have heard that as a nation we are facing an economic recession. The cost of living has gone up and families need an extra £2000 per year to keep their heads above water. That equates to £200 a month extra. Many families are feeling pressurised and some are worried, fearful and stressed out. Fear is the opposite of faith and when faced with circumstances that are out with our control that is when we need to turn to God and cast ALL our cares on Him for He really does care for us.
Before we were in full time ministry, we were in the construction business. There was a time when the construction industry was in recession and we had no business coming in. People lost jobs on cut backs and some companies went bust. We had a choice to make. We chose to see God as our provider and started declaring the favour of God over our business, the provision of God for our family and the peace of God to fill our minds and our home. Practically, we tightened our belts and cut down on spending but we never stopped tithing and giving. I want to tell you that God is faithful. We got through that recession and never missed a mortgage payment or any other payment. We cast all of our cares on God our provider and we trusted in Him for our needs.
To do that you need to be established in the Word of God. Head knowledge alone wont get you through. You need to know without the shadow of a doubt that God will take care of you. To do that God’s word needs to be rooted in the inside of you. So deeply rooted that neither storm, trials or tests will blow you away! When you are squeezed what comes out?
From the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
There is power to overcome economic recession when you are established in the word. Here are some practical things you can do which will get you through difficult times.
Trust in His love. Eph 6:10
Know who you are in Christ. Eph Eph 1:7
The word is absolute. Eph 4:14a
Know what belongs to you. Rom 8:32
Know the indwelling Spirit. 1 John 4:4
Know the power available in the name of Jesus. Mark 16: 17 – 20
Father, in the name of Jesus, we pray Your abundant provision in the days we live in. We thank You that You care for us and You will supply our needs. We trust in You and we want You to know that we see You as our source in every area of our lives. We thank You that we have the spirit of power, love and a strong mind and that fear is not our portion. Bless the work of our hands, help us provide for our families and give us over and above to we have enough to help meet the needs of others also. Amen.
We pray you are being built up by these monthly messages. We ministered a powerful message entitled The Power of Being Established. You can get this CD by ordering re our web or calling the office on 01294 557849.
We would love to hear your praise reports so please send them in.
God bless you,
Pastor Bernie & Nan
