The children and young people are an important part of our Church family at Cornerstone and we aim to provide for them from birth until whenever the time is right for them to join in with the main church service.
Cornerstone has an extensive ministry to children and young people, with over 170 children and youth involved in Sunday and midweek groups. On Sunday mornings there are many different groups which meet to meet the needs of the children and young people.
Cornerstone Church has a child protection policy based upon a model by the Churches Child Protection Advisory Service (CCPAS). All of our children’s and youth workers are required to have undertaken child protection training and have been police checked (CRB)
Gap is the name of the youth group which caters for those in school years 7-9 (11-14yrs). The Sunday sessions aim to encourage and equip those who are already Christians and to give those who are not yet Christians a chance to continue to investigate the Christian faith for themselves. Gap-ers leave the main service at 11.05am, the same time as the rest of the children.
Gap also meet on Friday evenings at the school from 7.15 - 8.45pm. This meet has a stronger social element, together with teaching and discussion.
Plunge is for all young people in school years 10-13 (14-18yrs).
Sundays - (11.05am-12.05pm)
This is aimed at those in years 10-11 (we start to encourage older young people into the main services once they hit sixth form age although never turn anyone away!).
Whether you would like to understand more about the Bible, find out what it means to be a Christian or grow in your relationship with God you will find something for you at Plunge.
There are courses on discipleship, sex and relationships, books from the Bible and much more.
Oh, and there’s often a healthy (?) breakfast too in case you had to dash out of the door without any!
Fridays (7.45 - 10.00pm)
This meeting has a stronger social element, together with teaching and discussion. Bring your friends, hang out together, get involved in all sorts of different things. There’s some structured time and some unstructured time to play pool, air hockey and listen to music.
